The Aberdare Country Club is located in the Aberdare Highlands, part of the Great Rift Valley, about two and a half hours northeast of Nairobi. This fascinating location was the home of an English couple who opted to reside in Kenya. Almost a half-century later, “The Steep” was christened the Aberdare Country Club and launched for public access.
The Club’s 1,300-acre wildlife refuge is home to eland, impalas, zebras, giraffes, and the more elusive leopards. It is a refuge of leisurely beauty located in a landscape brimming with color, with peacocks living among the lush green grass. It’s a dream to go across this untouched terrain. Play a game of golf while being watched by a family of warthogs, or fish for trout, play tennis, or simply rest by the pool in the gorgeous grounds.
The Aberdare Rural Club, a heritage property in Kenya, has kept the elegance of a private residence while providing the modest amenities of a country lodge
